Šarović EU Application dnevnik.baMinister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of B&H Mirko Šarović stated that he is not convinced in the announcement of some politicians that B&H might submit a credible application for membership in EU already in January.

Šarović commented on preparations of the negotiating team of B&H regarding adaptation of Stabilization and Association Agreement with EU, pointing out that he cannot reveal more details but that it is clear that this process will be marked with phased adjustment of quotas for certain product lines, especially for milk and meat, as well as for meat and dairy products.

“We, in B&H, lack the mechanisms of support to agricultural sector and that is why we must carefully build up our negotiating position with EU,” Šarović highlighted.

According to Šarović, the negotiating team is leaving for Brussels in seven days, to perform technical consultations with the European Commission.

Furthermore, Šarović highlighted that B&H should accelerate negotiations regarding the markets of Brazil, Russia and Ukraine, related to fulfillment of conditions by B&H for acceptance to the World Trade Organization.
