BiH Basketball Players defeated in second Round of Qualifications for World Cup

The basketball players of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) were defeated at the Rouen of France in the second round of Group E qualifications for the World Cup with a score of 84:65.

The French opened the game better and after five minutes, the advantage was 11: 4, and in the eighth minute they had a twofold advantage (17: 6). But by the end of the quarter, Dusko Vujosevic’s boys have managed to reduce it to minus seven (19:12).

In the second quarter, our selection really improved, and in the first half they were in the advantage of France 39:34.
At the beginning of the third quarter, Atić scored three point line, and BiH had reached minus two (39:37), but by the end of the third period, the French returned to a twofold advantage (51:40), and at the end of the quarter the French had a plus of 12 (61:49).

In the last quarter, the French gained advantage minute by minute, and three minutes before the end they reached a maximum of 20 points in plus (80:60), and then it was clear that they would win and our selection could only reduce the advantage to 84:65 by the end.
Among all members of our team, the best were Gordic with 16, Milosevic with 15 and Stipanovic with 13 points, while we lacked Musa’s points. Our jewel played the worst match in the career by achieving 1 point with a shot 0/8 and valorization -2.
French team was led to victory by Labeyrie with 13 points.

In the second match of the group, Russia had previously beaten Belgia with 74:69. France has both wins, while BiH and Russia have one win and defeat, and Belgium is the only one without a win in Group E.

The next match our basketball players will play on February 23rd next year when they will welcome Belgium, and two days later they will play in Russia.
