BiH beat Lichtenstein 5-0 in European Qualifiers Match

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH’s) national football team beat Lichtenstein 5-0 in European Championship 2020 Qualifiers on Thursday evening in Zenica, a city located 70 kilometers northwest of the capital.

At Bilino Polje stadium, the host team played offensively from the very first minute when Miralem Pjanic from the host team lofted a pass to Edin Dzeko, but he was in an offside position. The host team continued playing passes from one side to the otherand nine minutes later, Dzeko had a good chance to score, but missed the target.

A minute later, with Dzeko’s assistance, Amer Gojak from the host team scores for 1-0.

There was a new great chance to score for the host team in 24thminute when Edin Visca shot, but Liechtenstein goalkeeper defended.

Dennis Salanovic from the visiting team made an attempt on goal, cutting inside the left before curling in a strike that Ibrahim Sehic from the host team caught in 38thminute. In 43rdminute, Lichtenstein had a great opportunity to score again when Salanovic shot, but missed the target, and three minutes later, Sandro Wieser from the visiting team missed the target.

The second half saw early pressure from the host side, and the first attempt was in 47thminute when Pjanic raced onto a loose ball just outside the penalty area, but Daniel Kaufmann from the visiting team blocked. Ten minutes later, Nicolas Hasler from the visiting team attempted the goal, but missed it.

In 80thminute, the ball bounced off two Liechtenstein players after Haris Duljevic shot and ended up in the net for 2-0. Five minutes later, Dzeko scores 3-0 for the host team, and two minutes later, Edin Visca from the host team attempted the goal and scored 4-0. Two minutes later, Gojak scores again for the host team for the final 5-0.

In the group J, Italy is on the first place with 15 points, followed by Finland with 12 points and BiH with 7 points. The next match will be played against Armenia on Sept.8 in Yerevan.
