zvizdi-u-bruxellesu-sa-hahnom-bih-ispunila-i-posljednji-uvjet-za-razmatranje-aplikacije-za-lanstvo_12e4a03Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH Denis Zvizdić met yesterday in Brussels with the Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn.

Zvizdić spoke to Hahn about the possibility for inclusion of the request of BiH for membership in the EU in the agenda of the upcoming meeting of General Affairs Council of the European Union, as well as the possibility of adoption of the Conclusion on forwarding the request by European Commission for the delivery of an opinion about the request, stated the Cabinet of the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH.

Chairman Zvizdić pointed out that after the adoption of the finalized text of Coordination Mechanism for EU issues BiH has fulfilled the last prerequisite for consideration of its application at the meeting on September 20. He said that further progress in the field of EU integration is still in the focus of all levels of authority and that BiH is strongly committed to the continuation of reform processes with the aim of obtaining the candidate status by the end of 2017.

Hahn praised the progress of BiH and congratulated Zvizdić on fulfilling the last condition for consideration of the application. He said that it is necessary to continue investing efforts in the continuation of reform processes and strengthening of regional cooperation.

Chairman Zvizdić informed Commissioner Hahn about the degree of implementation of the aims from the Reform Agenda and said that the Council of Ministers has implemented 55 percent of the foreseen measures so far.

Zvizdić and Hahn also discussed the current political situation in BiH and possibilities for the holding of the announced referendum in the RS. They agreed that in BiH all decisions of the court, especially the Constitutional Court of BiH as a part of the Constitution of BiH, must be respected, just like in all other countries.

Hahn concluded that he expects the General Affairs Council to task the European Commission with preparing the questionnaire for BiH regarding membership in the EU at the next session of the Council.
