BiH Citizens are faced with Record Consumer Prices

Consumer prices in Bosnia and Herzegovina in September compared to the previous month of this year recorded an average increase of 1.2 percent.

Average price growth was recorded in almost all sections. Food and non-alcoholic beverages rose in price by 1.6 percent, clothing and footwear by 4.5 percent, housing services by 2.6 percent, furniture and household appliances by 0.3 percent, healthcare by 0.3 percent, transportation by 0.1 percent, communications by 0.5 percent, recreation and culture by one percent, education by 0.7 percent, restaurants and hotels by 0.6 percent, and other goods and services by 0.3 percent compared to the previous month.

The prices in September of this year compared to the same month in 2021 increased by 17.3 percent.

On an annual level, food and non-alcoholic beverages are on average more expensive by 26.2 percent, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco by 2.5 percent, housing services by 20 percent, furniture, household appliances, and regular home maintenance by 10.9 percent, healthcare by 1, 7 percent, transportation 28.2 percent, communications by 1.4 percent, recreation and culture by 10.6 percent, education by 1.6 percent, restaurants and hotels by 12.4 percent, and other goods and services by 7.6 percent.

According to data from the BiH Agency for Statistics, clothing and footwear were 6.3 percent cheaper on average.
