The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina passed today the Decision on approving one million BAM for the remediation of the consequences of floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with 500,000 BAM each being approved for the most threatened municipalities and cities in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska.

The distribution of funds will be determined later, by another decision, in accordance with the level of threat and priorities that will be determined by the Ministry of Security of BiH in cooperation with the competent entity institutions.

Previously, the member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, requested the holding of an extraordinary session of the BiH Presidency, at which 2,300,000 BAM would be allocated from the budget reserves of the Council of Ministers for the repair of damage caused by floods in the area of the Una-Sana Canton and the municipality of Čelić.

The Chairperson of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, replied that the Presidency has nothing to do with it and clarified that the competent institutions in the Republika Srpska and the Federation of BiH should do everything to protect the vulnerable population and their property.

During his visit to the flooded areas, the Prime Minister of the RS, Radovan Višković, said today that the Government of the RS will help the municipalities affected by the floods, and at the same time he asked for help from the Ministry of Finance of BiH for the flooded municipalities in the RS.
