The Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zukan Helez, has canceled a previously scheduled official visit to the Republic of Slovenia, where he was scheduled to meet with Slovenian President Nataša Pirc Musar and Defense Minister Borut Sajović on March 11 and 12.

Helez said that he canceled the visit due to the political crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He posted on Facebook that this is “the biggest crisis since Dayton to date, which is deepening and threatening the peace and security not only of BiH, but of the entire region”.

“The new date for the meetings will be determined later, and the reasons for which I canceled the official visit were fully understood in Ljubljana. I am grateful to President Pirc Musar and Minister Sajović for their understanding. Slovenia is one of the biggest advocates of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s membership in Euro-Atlantic integration and I am glad that we have strong support from Slovenia on this path as well,” Helez emphasized.
