BiH Exhibitor Achieved Success at BioFach 2013 Fair

Six BiH producers of medicinal herbs and forest plants achieved success at the international fair of organic products called Biofach 2013, which was held in mid-February in Nuremburg.

It was the fourth appearance of BiH producers at this fair, and the organizer was the BiH Foreign Trade Chamber (VTKBiH) in cooperation with the USAID FARMA project.

The Director of the Agency for Export Promotion (BHEPA) at VTKBiH Enes Ališković stressed that BiH exhibitors at this years fair had more than 400 meetings with new potential buyers, and that sales worth 569.146 KM have been confirmed, and they expect orders in the amount of 3.15 million KM.

The Director of the business sector in VTKBiH Zdravko Marinković said that BiH has huge potential for development of this branch of agriculture.

In 2012 BiH exported medicinal herbs and forest plants worth around 21 million KM. That was the result of entrepreneurs, because there was no significant institutional support, but it will be necessary for the development of the full potential in this area’’, added Marinković.
