BiH FM: There are no Ambiguities regarding the Status of Christian Schmidt in BiH

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina sent the Ministry of Security an express interpretation of the complete legitimacy of the stay of the high representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the selection of people who work with him, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konaković today in Sarajevo.

He pointed out that his status is in accordance with the provisions of Annex 10 of the Dayton Agreement and that there are no ambiguities regarding Christian Schmidt, who enjoys the status of a diplomatic agent according to those provisions.

“I think that this is a story that some are exhausted and tired of, and I told the member of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, that it is better not to send a letter to the Secretary General of the UN, which was also evident from his reply,” Konaković said at the press conference in Sarajevo.

He stated that highlighting this topic harms Bosnia and Herzegovina and all its citizens, because it slows down our European path.
