13120697_1169734009744220_848491126_oThe BiH U17 national football team is going to their first European Championship in Azerbaijan.

After gathering and short preparations in the Training Center of the Football Federation of BiH, players under the leadership of the coach Sakib Malkočević are full of optimism, but also full of caution prior to the performance at the elite gathering of the best U17 players of Europe.

“First of all, we must thank the Football Federation for the conditions they offered us. Regarding the mood in the team, this is amazing and no other words are necessary. We did a great job in qualifications and I am happy with the achieved result. We have a good team and we will play with the best U17 teams of Europe, which is a great success for our Federation and our team,” said the team captain Jasmin Čeliković.

One of more reserved statements for the media was made by Tomas Dadić, who also does not hide optimism after the success in qualifications and the analysis of opponents against whom they will play at the European Championship.

“Thanks to everyone who helped us achieve a great result. We are in the group with Germany, and we already know that Germany is the main favorite of the Championship, and our focus is on Austria. In the previous part, we have demonstrated that if we open qualifications well then everything is possible and, if we are the right ones, we can make an amazing result,” Tomas said.

Eighteen “little Dragons”, together with the coaching staff, will land at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku today and join the other national teams which will play at the European Championship. They will play their first match on Thursday, May 5, against the team of Austria.
