BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konaković is traveling to London today to continue his diplomatic activities ‘with great intensity’.
“We announced that we will take Bosnia and Herzegovina to all important places and destinations where important decisions are made. Today is the official start of the visit to Great Britain, during which we will meet with several state ministers,” Konaković told FENA before leaving for London.
As part of this bilateral mission, relations between the two countries will be discussed.
“We have good and friendly relations with Great Britain, and we will express our appreciation for that,” Konaković said.
As part of the visit, it is planned to meet with BiH nationals living in Great Britain, including Baroness Arminka Helić, who is very active on the political scene of Great Britain.
A meeting is also planned with Lord Stuart Peach, the United Kingdom’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, as well as with several other important people. Konaković singled out the meeting with Waqar Azmi, the founder of the Remembering Srebrenica Foundation, which every year commemorates the day of the genocide against the Bosniaks of Srebrenica and maintains memory in this part of the world.
During the day, an official confirmation of the meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Great Britain, James Cleverly, and with several other state ministers, including Leo Doherty, Undersecretary for European Affairs, who has already visited Bosnia and Herzegovina, is expected.
Konaković says that this is a very dynamic and important visit to Great Britain, with which he wants to maintain good relations and enhance them.
BiH Foreign Minister will return to Sarajevo on Wednesday, and then he is traveling to Berlin on Thursday, where he will meet with his German colleague Annalena Baerbock.
