The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Elmedin Konaković met on Saturday in Sarajevo with members of the House of Representatives of the United States Congress Gregory Murphy and Marc Veasey.
During the meeting, the importance of the long-term partnership between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United States of America and the continuation of a strong political dialogue was confirmed. Minister Konaković emphasized the importance of American support for the stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the interest in further expanding strong political relations through economic and energy cooperation. Special attention was paid to American investments, connecting business communities and the Southern Gas Interconnection as an important project for diversification of supply and energy security of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Minister Konaković also informed the congressmen about the current political and security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region. They discussed, among other things, the actions of Milorad Dodik, Russian influence in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, as well as recent events related to Ratko Mladić.
The interlocutors expressed interest in continuing the political dialogue and further strengthening bilateral, economic and energy relations.
