1000 goat and sheep farmsThe good news for the future breeders of goats comes from Mostar. The project of building of 1.000 sheep and goat farms will soon take hold in this area, said for ekapija.ba Dzevad Kovac, the president of the Association of goat and sheep breeders “Tor“ Mostar.

“Milksa will be the central company that will lead 1.000 goat farms, AD is the dairy and “Logistika“ is the company that will deal with the export of products and redemption of milk“, explains Kovac.

The object for the diary that will in the beginning produce 150.000 liters of milk is finished and what is left is to finish jobs about the obtaining the necessary documentation.

“Investors have looked everything. Also the preparation of the public call for the building of the farm is in progress. Also, the quarantine for imported goats is in progress and will have 10 objects where in each of them 300 goats will be located. I expect that all of this will be finished in May or June this year“, says Kovac, emphasizing that, by the end of Marc, the public call for goat breeding will be announced.

The Association is the project holder for BiH together with the Turkish “Milks“ that is the main investor of this project.

“Investors from Turkey were in Mostar last Friday. They should come again next week to finish technical details about the transport of real estates and payments“, said Kovac, adding that he hopes for the beginning of work of the first line of milk purchase that will be placed at the market of Saudi Arabia and Turkey, already in May or June.

The total worth of the project of 1.000 goat and sheep farms amounts to 350.000.000 euros. Kovac says that this is the biggest project in region. The similar one is in progress in Montenegro and Croatia, while preparations have started in Serbia.
