BiH has the highest Number of COVID-19 Cases per 100.000 Inhabitants in the Region

In the region, the highest number of deaths related to COVID-19 infection per 100 thousand inhabitants was registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), followed by North Macedonia and Montenegro.

262 deaths per 100 thousand inhabitants were recorded in BiH, 261 in North Macedonia, 252 in Montenegro, 210 in Slovenia, 197 in Croatia, 125 in Kosovo, 98 in Serbia, and 85 in Albania.

When it comes to our region, the highest fourteen-day incidence of new cases of coronavirus infection per 100 thousand inhabitants was registered in Slovenia, followed by Croatia and Montenegro.

197 infected people per 100 thousand inhabitants have been registered in Slovenia in the last 14 days, 133 in Croatia, 108 in Montenegro, 70 in Serbia, 43 in BiH, 26 in North Macedonia, 24 in Kosovo, while 9 were found in Albania.

The fourteen-day incidence represents the number of new cases of infection that were registered during the previous 14 days per 100 thousand inhabitants.

This method involves summation of the new cases in the past 14 days and expressing them per 100 thousand inhabitants.

Croatia ranks first in the region in the number of hospitalized people due to COVID 19 per 100 thousand inhabitants, followed by Montenegro and Slovenia.

In Croatia, 18 hospitalized per 100 thousand inhabitants were registered, in Montenegro 15, in Slovenia 11, in Serbia and Northern Macedonia 9 each, and in Kosovo 4.

In the region, the highest number of actively affected by COVID-19 per 100 thousand inhabitants was registered in BiH, followed by Slovenia and Montenegro.

There are 552 registered active cases per 100.000 inhabitants in BiH, 205 in Slovenia, 125 in Montenegro, 119 in Serbia, 111 in Kosovo, 52 in North Macedonia, 45 in Croatia, and 14 in Albania.

In our region, the highest number of tested people in relation to one million inhabitants can be found in Slovenia, with Montenegro in second place, and Serbia in third place, BHRT writes.
