americka_zastava_2The US Embassy to BIH chose 12 students to receive stipends of the Kennedy Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES). The students will leave for the US today for a one year study.

This program exists in BIH for five years, which allows students from the first and second year of high schools from BIH to apply and when they receive a stipend, they would go to school in the US for one year. They are placed in US families. The program is financed by the US government, and the US Ambassador to BIH is the administrator.

“Students from Prijedor, Zenica, Trebinje, Banja Luka, Zenica, and from all over BIH are leaving for the US today. When making the selection of students, it is important that they know English, and that they are prepared to live far from home for one year, how independent they are and how this will be of use to them’’, said Aleksandra Popović from the US Embassy to Dnevni Avaz.
