BiH Inflation slowed, lower Prices of Food and Clothing

Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH) annual inflation slowed to 1.0% in June, from 2.2% in May, was stated by the Agency for Statistics of BiH.

Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 0.7% more than in June last year, alcoholic beverages and tobacco increased by 4.5%, and prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels rose by 0.8%.

Prices of transport increased by 4.9%, in comparison to June last year, healthcare services by 0.7%, education by 0.9%, communications by 0.6%, recreation and culture by 1.1% and restaurant and hotel services by 0.2%.

On a monthly comparison basis, Bosnia’s consumer prices edged down 0.5% in June, after rising 1.0% in May. Lower prices were recorded in the sectors of food and non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic drinks and tobacco, clothing and footwear, transport and other goods and services.

In 2016, Bosnia and Herzegovina annual deflation expanded to 1.1% from 1.0% in 2015.
