rukometThe BiH Handball Federation (RS BiH) will hand over the official bid for the organization of the world championships for seniors for 2017 and 2019 on 28 July at the Executive Board for the International Handball Federation (IHF).

“We will apply for the organization of the next two world championships. Of course, if we win the championship 2017, we will not be candidates for 2019. We will submit nominations at the meeting ‘world handball government’, that will be under the leadership of the President Hasan Mustafa, and will be held on 28 July in Hotel Europe in Sarajevo’’, said the General Secretary of RS BiH Smajo Karačić for Agency Anadolija (AA).

Qatar will host the SP for seniors 2015, and the decisions for the hosts of 2017 and 2019 will be made in October at the Congress of IHF.

The handball world championships until 21 years old will be held from Sunday, 14 July to 28 July in four BiH cities: Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Zenica and Ljubuški. During this period, it is expected that an added 15.000 tourists will come to BiH exclusively for handball. It is expected that BiH will earn around 400.000 KM from VAT, and that retailers and the hospitality business will make profits.

The President of RS BiH Zdravko Miličević said that they are fully prepared for the beginning of an important competition in BiH, which would be the biggest one since the Winter Olympics in 1984.
