BiH Parties are looking for a Way out of the Blockade

The meeting of the Troika parties (Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina, People and Justice and Our Party) and the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina has begun in Konjic.

As previously announced, this is one of a series of working meetings between partners at the level of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The agenda will include topics from the federal level, but it is not excluded that topics from the state level will also be discussed.

The meeting is taking place at a time of institutional blockade and a rift between coalition partners HDZ BiH and the Troika parties due to disagreements over amendments to the Election Law, where HDZ BiH insists on a model that would ensure the election of a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina from among the Croat people by majority votes from cantons with a Croat majority.

Additional discord was caused by RS President Milorad Dodik, whose unconstitutional actions and court rulings forced the Troika to break ties with the SNSD and begin negotiations on a new majority without him.
