The respected Bosnian photographer Bakir Nikšić has passed away. This sad news was confirmed on social networks by his daughter Elma Nikšić.

“I am informing friends, acquaintances and fans of Bakir Nikšić’s (my dad’s) photography that he returned to his Lord this morning. I will announce the time and place of the funeral later,” she wrote.

He was engaged in depicting everyday life and “ordinary” people through the lens, focusing on realistic, simple motifs, portraits, architecture and nature.

His approach to photography often emphasizes beauty in modesty and uniqueness in ordinary life situations. Because of all this, it can be said that Bakir Nikšić was an artist who recorded the spirit of Sarajevo.

In 2023, he photographed two friends, Samija Samka Cerić and Hatidža Čolaković, who, thanks to his photography, were called fashion icons of the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Friends and colleagues say goodbye to him on social networks, Klix.ba writes.
