SARAJEVO, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) — Bosnia and Herzegovina’s (BiH) State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) detained three persons on Saturday suspected of drug trafficking and seized 20 kg of narcotic drugs.
The raid was conducted in an area around Zenica, a city located some 70 km northwest of the capital Sarajevo, an official press statement from BiH Prosecutor’s office said.
“A large number of different narcotic drugs were found and seized, namely, 15 kg of cannabis-marijuana, 3.9 kg of amphetamine (speed), 0.316 kg of amphetamine (ecstasy) and 0.4 kg of heroin,” press statement explained.
BiH, along with other Balkan countries, lies on the route of international drug trafficking linking Western Europe and Asia.
