Member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, spoke with the Commander of the NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo, Brigadier General Pamela McGaha, and expressed his gratitude for the contribution that the NATO HQ in Sarajevo continuously provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina in terms of defense sector reforms, NATO integration and general security and stability.

Bećirović assessed that cooperation with the NATO headquarters is of great importance and expressed his desire to work together on the implementation of the BiH Reform Program to admit Bosnia and Herzegovina to full membership in NATO.

He confirmed his commitment to the intensification of the NATO integration process, by the Constitution and the Defense Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina and welcomed the decision on political and practical assistance, which NATO announced to Bosnia and Herzegovina during the summit in Madrid, as well as the package of support to Bosnia and Herzegovina in terms of strengthening defense capacities, which was specified during the recent ministerial meeting in Bucharest. Bećirović expressed his readiness for the conclusions to be jointly agreed upon and concretely defined through the “Tailored Support to Bosnia and Herzegovina” package.

“The member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, said that destructive actions must be stopped to protect the constitutional order, sovereignty, territorial integrity, peace and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that the international community should take a firm stance towards the political elites which are slowing down Euro-Atlantic integration,” announced the BiH Presidency.
