BiH Presidency Member Denis Bećirović held a meeting with the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States (US) Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina Daniel Koski.

During the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the current security and political situation in the country, as well as on the continuation of close cooperation between the US and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bećirović recalled his recent visits to Washington, Dayton and New York, during which he held a number of important meetings with senior US officials.

During these talks, the strong support of the US for Bosnia and Herzegovina and its Euro-Atlantic and European path was confirmed, as well as the readiness to improve overall interstate cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the US.

Bećirović emphasized that Bosnia and Herzegovina continues to face attacks on the constitutional order and attempts to collapse state institutions, coming from the political leadership of the RS entity.

He stressed that such destructive actions pose a continuous threat to stability and peace, not only for Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also for the wider region.

In this context, he particularly pointed out the need for strong and consistent international support for preserving the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Dayton Peace Agreement.

Further on the conversation, Bećirović particularly emphasized the importance of strengthening economic and trade cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the USA. He informed his interlocutor that, at his initiative, the Presidency of BiH held a series of extraordinary sessions in the period from June to July 2025, with the aim of initiating bilateral economic consultations and agreements with the USA.

The Presidency of BiH adopted a Letter of Intent addressed to the US Department of Commerce, and gave its consent to the signing of the Confidentiality Agreement regarding trade negotiations.

This confirms Bosnia and Herzegovina’s strategic commitment to the development of institutional and economic relations with the USA.

Chargé d’Affaires Daniel Koski reiterated that the United States remains committed to supporting the independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and multiethnic character of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He emphasized that the United States’ interest is the stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, and that this is a prerequisite for stronger economic development.
