The member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, spoke within the Munich Security Conference with the special envoy of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the Western Balkans, Lord Stuart Peach, and on that occasion it was pointed out that British support is of strategic importance for our country.

It was emphasized that the interest of both Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom is full compliance with the Dayton Peace Agreement.

Bećirović stated that it is extremely important that the UK stands firmly by Bosnia and Herzegovina and its citizens.

“Great Britain has a special importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina, because it is a country that is one of the witnesses of the Dayton Peace Agreement”, stressed the member of the BiH Presidency.

During the conversation, Peach pointed out that Great Britain strongly supports the Euro-Atlantic path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that his country remains an ally of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as that it is sincerely committed to democratic and multi-ethnic Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Bećirović emphasized that it is of great importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina to receive a decision on the opening of accession negotiations at the upcoming meeting of the European Council.

He also recalled the conversation with the Prime Minister of Great Britain Rishi Sunak last year in London and pointed out the importance of his clear message that his country strongly supports the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
