BiH Presidency Members met with the Special Envoy of the United Kingdom for the Western Balkans

Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Željko Komšić and member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović received today the special envoy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the Western Balkans, Karen Pierce.

Komšić and Bećirović welcomed special envoy Pierce and expressed their satisfaction with the good and friendly relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United Kingdom, as well as with the intense political dialogue and meaningful cooperation in numerous areas, especially on the economic level and in the field of defense.

The common interest and intention to continue and expand cooperation in the fields of energy and infrastructure, as well as other areas that will contribute to better connecting Bosnia and Herzegovina with the region, was highlighted.

The interlocutors emphasized the United Kingdom’s significant support for the reform and integration processes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is part of a broader strategic approach aimed at stabilizing the Western Balkans as a basis for the long-term stability of Europe.

On this occasion, Pierce reiterated her support for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the United Kingdom’s commitment to the country’s economic development and European perspective, along with partnership cooperation and engagement within the Berlin process.

Speaking about the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it was assessed that the current situation should be used to continue the reform process and progress towards fulfilling the conditions for membership in the European Union.

They discussed the current situation in the country, and the modalities for solving issues related to state property and the Public Radio and Television System of BiH.

Komšić and Bećirović expressed their gratitude for the continued support of the United Kingdom and the personal engagement of special envoy Pierce in strengthening overall relations and friendly cooperation.

Counselor Marko Milisav attended the meeting on behalf of BiH Presidency member Željka Cvijanović, the BiH Presidency announced.
