The idea of Bosnian statehood is four or five centuries old, said Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Denis Zvizdic.
He added that this is the idea of the will of citizens of BiH who always looked at it as a separate territorial entity, noting that BiH is an independent country with full sovereignty and territorial integrity and international legal personality.
“This is a country that has created a presumption for a strong move towards the European Union, and possibly to membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in the upcoming period and managed to give priority to economic and human resources after a devastating war and tens of thousands killed and hundreds of thousands displaced citizens,” noted Zvizdic.
Damages, recalled Zvizdic, were huge, and some of the analysis state that damages in Sarajevo were larger than 20 billion EUR, although they are almost forgotten.
“At the moment, BiH records the best economic results and parameters in the region. The potential of BiH are such that BH spirit, the spirit of independence and multicultural and multi-religious approach to the building of our society, won and overcame all those who wanted to overcome BiH or disintegrate it,” said the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Denis Zvizdic.
He also commented on the announced visit of the EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Federica Mogherini to BiH, saying that she brings a very important message for BiH, and that is that doors of the EU are open for BiH, but also that from dynamics of fulfillment of the conditions that are set before BiH will depend on the speed of the accession to EU.
“All EU officials will be available to BiH and will give fully institutional and other support in order for our accession phase to be mastered in a faster pace and in the best way possible,” said Zvizdic.
He emphasized that it is important for BiH that the European perspective of BiH and the Western Balkans is certain, due to the good cooperation within the region, as long as all the countries in the region have the road to the EU as the most important common denominator, then can be talked about regional projects and strengthening of regional cooperation.
