At the end of December last year, there were 320,696 people registered with employment agencies and services in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and compared to the previous month, the number of unemployed decreased by 1,216 or 0.38 percent.
The number of unemployed decreased by 22,804 or 6.64 percent compared to the same month last year, according to the BiH Labor and Employment Agency.
Unemployment in December last year compared to the previous month decreased in the Republika Srpska by 885 people or 1.27 percent, in the Federation of BiH by 238 people or 0.09 percent, and in the Brčko District by 93 people or 0.79 percent.
In December, the most qualified workers were registered – 100,182 or 31.21 percent of the total number, followed by unqualified people, 94,057 or 29.33 percent, and people with secondary education 90,917 or 28.45 percent.
25,345 people with higher education or 7.93 percent of the total number were looking for work, 4,994 or 1.54 percent of them had higher education, 4,478 or 1.40 percent had lower education, and 723 or 0.22 percent were highly qualified workers.
Of the total number of registered unemployed people in December, 10,339 were newly registered job seekers.
In December 2024, 11,641 people were deleted from the employment service records, of which 6,864 were employed.
At the same time, 7,958 people lost their jobs, while employers reported their need to hire 2,187 new workers during this period.
According to data from the BiH Agency for Statistics, in November 2024, the number of employed people in BiH was 859,261, and compared to the previous month, the number of employed people increased by 0.1 percent.
