Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia Rasim Ljajic and Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH Mirko Sarovic signed the Protocol on the removal of non-custom barriers in the trade between Serbia and BiH.

“Our goal is to increase the trade exchange between our two countries and to remove all obstacles for the free movement of goods. The joint working groups identified a total of 13 barriers that were preventing more intensive trade exchange and free flow of goods,” stated Minister Ljajic.

He also added that seven barriers, out of 13, were removed after just two meetings of the working groups, the other two should be removed by the end of January and the working groups will deal with the remaining four barriers after that.

Serbian Minister Ljajic stated that the exchange of goods with BiH in the first 10 months of this year was by 200 million EUR more than last year in the same period, and he also added that it is expected for it to reach the record 2 million EUR next year.

Minister Sarovic considers this as an important step for the improvement of trade and economic relations of the two countries.

He is strongly convinced that the issue of barriers will be resolved during the year of 2018.
