The “Selection of the Most Significant Investor in BiH” was held on Tuesday in Sarajevo and was organized by the Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Unlike the previous years when four major investors were chosen, this year, recognition to 12 companies were handed.

The awards were given to Carpet Center d.o.o. Čapljina, Ferretto Group Central Europe, Nsoft d.o.o. Mostar, Swisslion d.o.o. Trebinje, Zeochem d.o.o. Zvornik, Wiener Insurance Vienna Insurance Group a.d. Banja Luka, Collector CCL d.o.o. Laktaši, Messer BH Gas, Geomet d.o.o. Olovo, Grand Hotel Neum, Pirnar d.o.o. Bosanski Petrovac and Al-Shiddi International d.o.o. Swissôtel Sarajevo.

In this way, the acknowledgment to foreign companies will be made, and in the same way, thanked them for their contribution to the economic development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the employment of BiH citizens, and the growth of all other economic indicators based on these investments, FIPA said in a statement.

Over the last two years, BiH has recorded an increase in foreign investment and in 2017, foreign investments amounted to 777 million BAM, which is about 40% more than in 2016.

The trend of foreign investment growth continued in 2018 as well, so 452 million BAM in foreign investments was recorded for the first six months. Investment growth is the result of the work of competent institutions in creating better investment conditions, bringing new investors, and implementing the necessary reforms and strengthening the country’s competitiveness both for domestic and foreign investors.

The presence of foreign investors in the country sends the message that BiH is a country where the investment of foreign capital is safe and profitable.
