BiH’s Prime Minister met with His Romanian Counterpart in Bucharest

The Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Denis Zvizdic, spoke today in Bucharest with the Prime Minister of Romania Viorica Dancila on improving economic cooperation, European integration and regional cooperation.

Chairman Zvizdic said that the political relations between the two friendly countries are very good and without open questions. He welcomed the Romanian EU Presidency and thanked Romania for maintaining the issue of enlargement as one of the priorities of its presidency. He expressed the interest of Bosnia and Herzegovina to deepen and strengthen cooperation in the areas of Euro-Atlantic integration and economic relations with an emphasis on trade promotion, where there is plenty of room for improvement.

Chairman Zvizdic emphasized agriculture, energy, car and machinery industry, IT sector, tourism and environmental protection as areas for improvement.

Prime Minister Dancila congratulated President Zvizdic on the impressive results of the BiH Council of Ministers for the last four years.

He stressed that Romania strongly supports the Euro-Atlantic integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina and expressed Romania’s readiness to provide political and technical assistance to Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to accelerate BiH’s European path.

Dancila said that Romania wants to strengthen and improve cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially economic cooperation through the association of chambers of commerce and entrepreneurs. She stressed that the Western Balkans are part of Europe and that Romania supports BiH’s status as a candidate and is the only guarantee of lasting peace, stability and economic development of the region’s EU and NATO membership.

Chairman Zvizdic informed Prime Minister Dancila about the current political situation in BiH. He stressed that the EU and NATO perspectives for BiH are the motivator and driver of the necessary reforms and economic development, but above all the stabilization of the overall situation in BiH.

Chairman Zvizdic thanked Romania for aid in Euro-Atlantic integration of BiH and confirmed the support of BiH for the non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the period 2020-21.

Prime Minister Dancila thanked for BiH’s support for Romania’s candidacy for a non-permanent UN Security Council member.
