On Friday, 11 April at 10:00 in the SOS Children’s Village Sarajevo, there will be a gathering to escort two young men who will travel through six countries in the Balkans by bicycles, in their aim to draw attention to the idea of SOS Children’s Villages.
Ljupčo Krstev from Macedonia and Daniel Milenov from Bulgaria will go on a 1700 kilometer cycling tour in the middle of April, and in this way they wish to attract interest and support of the public for the work of SOS Children’s Villages. These are organizations in which they both grew up.
The cycling tour began on 1 April in SOS Children’s Village Dren in Bulgaria. On the 2nd they went to Macedonia, and afterwards to Kosovo and Serbia. On 11 April they will continue their journey from Sarajevo to the SOS Children’s Village in Gračaniča.
Ljupčo and Daniel met at a football tournament in 2005 and they became friends immediately. When Daniel came by bike from Sofia in 2005 to visit Ljupčo in Skopje, they arrived at the idea to visit SOS Children’s Villages in the Balkans.
In preparation for this challenging tour, these two young men trained and cycled every day. They look forward to the challenge, but also more encounters with children in SOS Children’s Villages and the opportunity to show more people the Children’s Villages-places where they both received a warm home and a family.
