The Olympic Center Bjelašnica-Igman, organized by KJP ZOI ’84, will host the FIS European Cup in alpine skiing in the Super-G discipline on February 18 and 19, 2026.

This prestigious competition is returning to Bjelašnica for the third consecutive year, as the International Ski Federation (FIS), recognizing the successful organization in previous years, has once again placed its trust in the hosts.

During last year’s Super-G races, which are especially suited to the course layout on Bjelašnica, over 70 competitors from 18 countries participated. This year, an even larger number of participants is expected, including young athletes who are already being recognized as future stars of world skiing.

The Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, Nihad Uk, emphasized that the continuous organization of such competitions confirms that Bjelašnica truly deserves its status as an Olympic mountain.

“With great pleasure and pride, I must highlight that the Bjelašnica-Igman Olympic Center, organized by KJP ZOI ’84, is hosting the FIS European Cup for the third consecutive year, one of the most prestigious competitions in alpine skiing after the World Cup. This is the result of dedicated work, a clear vision, and continuous investment in infrastructure, safety, and organizational capacity,” said Uk.

He also noted that the European Cup being held on Bjelašnica for the first time since the 1984 Winter Olympics carries special significance, thanks to the efforts of KJP ZOI ’84.

The Bjelašnica-Igman Olympic Center highlighted that organizing the FIS European Cup is an important step toward hosting even larger sporting events.

“A successful organization of the FIS European Cup is the best confirmation that Bjelašnica has the capacity, expertise, and personnel to meet the highest international standards. This also represents a clear path toward our long-term goal of hosting World Cup races,” the Center stated.

The organization of the FIS European Cup once again confirms that Bjelašnica remains an important international sport and tourist destination, and a strong symbol of the Olympic heritage of Sarajevo Canton and Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Sarajevo Canton Protocol and Press Service added.
