US Secretary of State Antony Blinken paid a one-day visit to Vienna this Friday, where he participated in a session of the United Nations Commission on Drugs and Organized Crime, and then met with the head of the Austrian state.
Blinken also discussed the situation in the Western Balkans and the European Commission’s recommendation to open accession negotiations with BiH with Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg.
The US fully supports BiH’s Euro-Atlantic path and encourages the leaders in BiH to move away from the divisions of the past and continue the reforms that are necessary to move towards the European Union, said Blinken.
“What we no longer need, especially the residents of the region, is a return to the past, to return to those nineties,” Blinken emphasized.
