The Cherry Fair, or officially the International Fair of Economy, Food and Tourism, “Days of Cherry”, will be held for the 16th time this year, and it has become a recognizable and significant economic event in our region. This year’s fair will last for four days, and it will start on June 19, in the former TC Merkur in Vrapcici.

The director of the fair, Salem Bubalo, stated that the fair was created through the development strategy of the former municipality of Mostar North, but it exceeded expectations in the following period.

“The fair recorded a great increase since its beginning, and it reached the level of 300 exhibitors in a very short period of time, which were full fair capacities. Numerous exhibitors and their partners recorded great success after the fair, and cherry has become a real brand. Also, Mostar can proudly say that it has two large fairs now,” stated Bubalo.

This year’s partner of the fair is Skopje, i.e. its most populous municipality Cair.

The old city cores of Skopje and Mostar will become brotherly cities again and restore their friendly relations on the “Days of Cherry” in a special way. The protocol on co-operation between the old crafts of these two cities will be signed at the fair.

“Our company, Jaffa komerc, which is the leader in the production of cherries, will also presents a new small tourist train that will drive through their fields and the old core of Blagaj. That little tourist train could become a completely original tourism product,” noted director Bubalo.

This year’s fair will gather around 300 exhibitors from countries of the former Yugoslavia, as well as Hungary.
