Members of the Border Police Unit (PGP) Zvornik on Saturday prevented the smuggling of migrants in Kozluk in the municipality, where they spotted a boat from the Republic of Serbia sailing on the Drina River towards BiH while monitoring the state border and using specialist equipment.
Members of PGP Zvornik stopped a boat carrying 26 people (illegal migrants), 20 of whom are citizens of India, three Pakistanis, and one citizen of Ghana, Zambia and Tunisia, the BiH Border Police (BP) announced.
Under the supervision of the duty prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, measures and actions are being carried out to document the criminal offense of “human trafficking”.
The director of the BiH Border Police, Zoran Galic, praised the work of the members of the Zvornik Border Police Unit and pointed out that they are achieving better and better results.
“Members of PGP Zvornik are continuously working to prevent the smuggling of migrants, as well as all forms of cross-border crime, and I thank them for the very good results they have achieved, especially in recent years, investing maximum efforts to protect the state border. to this unit, in places where the greatest migratory pressure, in order to more effectively protect the state border, “said Galic.
One person, a citizen of Afghanistan, has been deprived of liberty and will be handed over to the Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH within the legal deadline, along with a report on the committed crime.
