Bosanska Otoka: Bomb neutralized in Two Attempts, no one is injured

surveillanceMembers of the Federal Civil Protection Administration and the Armed Forces of B&H managed to successfully neutralize the bomb from World War II that was found in Bosanska Otoka.

Action of neutralization and destruction of this 248 kilograms weighing explosive device with 120 kilograms of explosives started at 9 a.m. after the signal for public danger.

Representatives of the FCPA and AFB&H laid the necessary tool at the bomb igniter that was activated via a robot thus accessing to the destruction effect by aimed filling of the body of the bomb. The first explosion was recorded in 10 a.m., after which the robot went on field and recorded situation after the detonation.

After analyzing the recordings, it was determined that the ignition of gunpowder was not done, but the goal to open up the bomb was achieved. Then the teams approached the bomb once again and destroyed the remaining amount (30 %) of explosives by burning.
