Bosnian Ahmed Guso With A ‘Smart Submarine’ Going To A World Competition In Qatar

Ahmed Guso from Gorazde will represent Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) at the international competition for young innovators “Codeavour 6.0” which will be held from May 14th to 18th in Qatar.

Ahmed, who attends the Technical High School “Hasib Hadzovic,” will present himself at this competition with a smart submarine “Natilius.”

“The smart submarine aims to protect the underwater ecosystem, especially parts of the Mediterranean Sea. Through an innovative approach and the use of natural, environmentally friendly materials, this project has the potential to contribute to the preservation of marine life, particularly fish spawning grounds, as well as to the improvement of sea water quality,” explains Ahmed.

The boy already has several awards for innovations behind him, and his first victory was at the World Competition “Do Your Bit,” and later he won third place at the competition in artificial intelligence and coding “Codeavour” with a new innovation.

His mentor, Professor Merima Foco, is also going on the trip to Qatar. She says the project took seven months to complete and believes they will return from Qatar with an award.

A reception was organized yesterday for Ahmed at the Ministry of Education, Youth, Science, Culture and Sports of the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton Gorazde (BPC), which will cover all the costs of his participation in the competition.

“Ahmed is the pride of the whole canton. He is proof that our education system has enormous potential. Out of 200.000 registered participants, his project was ranked among the top ten, which speaks volumes about his creativity, knowledge, and dedication. The Ministry will continue to provide support to all students who choose to develop the same or similar projects,” says Adisa Alikadic-Heric, Minister of Education, Klix.ba writes.
