Bosnian Generals Warn Rutte: “Vucic and Dodik Are Working to Break Up BiH”

The Association of Generals of Bosnia and Herzegovina sent a letter to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stating that Aleksandar Vučić and Milorad Dodik are proxies of the Russian Federation in the Balkans, which they do not hide, and are working to break up Bosnia and Herzegovina and are seriously undermining peace and security in the Balkans, leading the region into a new conflict that could be even more dangerous than the Russian aggression against Ukraine.

“We expect you to take this seriously. Do not make the mistake that the international community, the European Union and the United Nations made, underestimating Milošević’s readiness to push the former Yugoslavia into war, and then tolerating his policies, turning a blind eye to the destruction of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the horrific crimes of the ‘Balkan butcher’ Slobodan Milošević,” the Association of Generals of Bosnia and Herzegovina says.

Ahead of the announced visit of the NATO Secretary General to Sarajevo, this association welcomes Rutte to the capital of a European country, which for the first time since World War II was exposed to great war devastation during a siege that lasted 1,425 days.

”We, the commanders of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, proudly participated in the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the victory over fascism, which was organized in Paris, France in 1995. We were the only army from the former Yugoslavia to be invited. We remind you that the United Nations court – the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, headquartered in The Hague, Kingdom of the Netherlands, ruled that all those other armies in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Croatia were parts of a joint criminal enterprise, and that it ruled that both the Croatian and Serbian armies participated in an international armed conflict by attacking our homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina,” notes the Association of Generals of BiH.

They further add that for years, even after the International Court of Justice rejected their lawsuit against NATO, Serbia and the RS have been trying in every way to prosecute the highest NATO officials before the courts in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina for the military intervention in Bosnia and Serbia in 1995 and 1999, an intervention that was humane because its goal was, above all, the protection of innocent civilians. Political officials in Belgrade still claim today that NATO carried out aggression against Serbia, and numerous media outlets in Serbia write about NATO’s crimes.

They also emphasize that they have always stood by Western civilizational values and NATO’s values, and that they have been on the same side with NATO in defending democratic values from fascism in Bosnia and Herzegovina and in the Balkans.

”We have been and remain on the side of NATO, we are ready to cooperate with the Alliance to jointly oppose the great-state fascist projects ‘packaged’ in Putin’s ‘Russian world’ and Vučić’s ‘Serbian world’ that are leading to new conflicts. We are ready to stand with you, the democratic world, but also independently, as we did in 1992, to oppose and resist fascism and the criminal plans that threaten Bosnia and Herzegovina and the world,” the Association of Generals of BiH says.
