The solo exhibition “WHATEVER” by Bosnian and Herzegovinian academic painter Amer Hadžić was opened at the Kavadarci Museum Gallery in North Macedonia. The exhibition was realized in cooperation with the Kavadarci Municipality Council as part of a program featuring 50 events marking the Museum Gallery’s 50th anniversary. A total of 28 of Hadžić’s works were presented to a large audience. Bridging memory and the contemporary world, traditional architecture, urban culture, and global pop culture, the artist raises questions of identity, remembrance, and the challenges of modern society.
“I presented my work to the audience in North Macedonia for the first time, which is why this exhibition holds special significance for me. I am grateful to the hosts for their warm hospitality and impeccable organization, as well as to the audience that turned out in large numbers. I am glad to have the opportunity to present 28 works created in oil and acrylic on canvas,” said the author of the exhibition, academic painter Amer Hadžić.
With this exhibition, Hadžić builds a recognizable visual world based on the intersection of weathered facades, concrete, and traces of time with vibrant colors, graffiti, and pop culture motifs. Behind the seemingly cheerful and humorous imagery, the artist addresses alienation, consumerism, modern forms of communication, and the impact of the digital world, leaving space for the audience to interpret each work personally. The exhibition will remain open until September 1st.

Amer Hadžić was born in 1987 in Sarajevo. He graduated in 2010 from the Department of Printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo, in the class of Professor Salim Obralić, and earned his Master’s degree in Printmaking in 2012. In his work, he combines drawing, printmaking, and painting with street art, pop art, and graffiti culture, with a particular focus on reinterpreting the architectural heritage of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has authored numerous solo exhibitions, participated in international exhibitions, symposiums, art colonies, and projects, and received multiple awards in printmaking and painting. He is a member of ULUBIH, founder of the ‘ArkA’ Association, director of the ‘ArkA’ Art Center, and a faculty member at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo. In 2024, he was elected a member of the International Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
