Bosnian Police arrested Twelve Persons for Illicit Trafficking in Weapons

Twelve people were deprived of liberty, and searches were carried out at ten locations in the continuation of the operative action “Crystal” which is being carried out in the wider area of Bijeljina with the aim of breaking up an organized criminal group that was engaged in drug trafficking for a long time, was announced from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska.

The statement adds that the action is being realized by police officers of the Directorate for Organized and Serious Crime of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republika Srpska and the Police Administration of Bijeljina.

“In today’s activities, police officers found and seized about 200 grams of powdered substance associated with the narcotic drug cocaine, a gun, 10,000 BAM, several mobile phones and SIM cards and other items,” the statement said.

The Ministry of the Interior of Srpska points out that criminal processing of persons deprived of liberty is in progress.

All activities in the “Crystal” operation are carried out under the supervision of the Bijeljina District Public Prosecutor’s Office. The action will continue in the following period, it is added in the announcement.

The “Crystal” operation covered and deprived of liberty a total of 23 persons, against whom reports have been or will be filed for committing 17 criminal offenses, namely criminal offenses of unauthorized production and trafficking of narcotics under Article 207 paragraphs 1 and 3, enabling the use of narcotics from Article 208, illicit trafficking in weapons or explosives from Article 361 of the Criminal Code of the Republika Srpska and recruitment for international prostitution under Article 187 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
