A large number of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) went shopping the last Friday and thus marked the popular Black Friday.

For the fifth year in a row, the company “dm” replaced the globally popular Black Friday with a socially responsible activity called Giving Friday, and set aside 5 percent of the total daily turnover for a donation to soup kitchens.

Thus, 56.014 BAM will be donated to 24 soup kitchens across BiH, from which meals will be prepared for the beneficiaries.

“We are very grateful to all our customers who showed humanity by shopping on Friday and together helped to provide 9.793 meals for the users of soup kitchens throughout BiH, which will be distributed during December. As part of this now traditional activity, we have provided 32.876 meals so far, which, with this year’s donation, amounts to 218.129 BAM,” said Admira Isakovic, member of the dmBiH Management Board.

Employees of “dm” will participate in the preparation and distribution of meals this year as well, doing socially useful work.

Namely, given that it was announced that the company allocates 5 percent of the turnover or 56.014 BAM, it can be calculated that for that day the total turnover of “dm” in BiH was over a million BAM, or 1.120.280 BAM.

According to our data, the total income of “dm” in BiH last year was 262.744.859 BAM, which means that the daily turnover amounted to about 720 thousand BAM on average, Biznis Info reports.
