Today, PDHR/Brčko District Supervisor Jonathan Mennuti attended the Full-Scale Exercise DPPI FLEX 2023, hosted by the BiH Ministry of Security in Brčko in collaboration with the Initiative for Disaster Prevention and Preparedness of Southeast Europe (DPPI SEE). The exercise included teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina and nine other DPPI SEE member states in a comprehensive flood simulation.

Acknowledging the progress Brčko has made since the devastating floods of 2014, PDHR/Supervisor Mennuti emphasized the necessity for sustained efforts in disaster preparedness, including continued collaboration with international partners and donors to complete the ongoing flood protection measures and other essential infrastructure projects, crucial for safeguarding lives and property during future natural disasters. As Brčko continues to make strides in enhancing its resilience, such collaborations and exercises serve as critical milestones in ensuring the safety and well-being of its residents.

During his visit, PDHR/Supervisor also had the opportunity to meet with the Brčko leadership to assess the progress on good governance reforms and infrastructure projects in the District, as well as representatives of the opposition parties in the District Assembly.
