Brcko Supervisor Meets New Leaders of Brcko District

Principal Deputy High Representative and Brcko District Supervisor Louis Crishock held his first post-election meetings with newly elected Mayor Sinisa Milic, Assembly Speaker Damir Bulcevic and Deputy Speaker Ivo Filipovic as well as political representatives participating in the Brcko District Assembly. During the meetings, he welcomed the convocation of the new District Assembly and appointments to key positions in the Brcko authorities as an important step toward realizing the will of the people expressed at the ballot box in October.

The creation of a ruling majority always involves political compromise and cooperation among elected officials to ensure a governing majority that can effectively govern throughout the mandate and deliver on the promises made to the citizens. “Urgent filling of key positions was necessary so that Brcko authorities can start addressing, with renewed vigor, an agenda that includes critical infrastructure development, job creation, strengthening anti-corruption efforts, and effective and efficient public services,” said Crishock.

The Supervisor stressed that Brcko District has no time to lose and called all political stakeholders in Brcko to recommit and accelerate reforms in order to advance the District’s development. Local representatives hold the key to achieving progress and growth. They need to demonstrate that Brcko District can lead by example in accountability, transparency, and good governance practices.
