Following their philosophy of socially-conscious business, Eastern Mining company decided to support the work of Rugby Club Čelik Zenica. The sponsorship has been made official this week by the procurement of a new line of club jerseys, and it will subsequently continue through support of other operative activities of the club.

The General Secretary of Rugby Club Čelik, Mirza Oruč, noted that the entire collective and staff function on a volunteer basis, and so this support makes a difference not only for the Club but for the local community as well.

“Aside from the jerseys that are now already in the Club, we are currently working on supplying specific sports equipment which will significantly improve the quality of our training and matches. Other than that, we will use the funds for other operative costs such as organising matches,“ Oruč said. He especially thanked Paul Cronin, Executive Director of British company Adriatic Metals which owns Eastern Mining, whose passion for rugby resulted in this sponsorship.

“Supporting sports collectives and groups is one of the best ways to contribute to our local community. Our sponsorship is in fact an incentive for excellent young enthusiast who, through their hard work and dedication, represent their city and club in the best way possible,“ underlined General Director of Eastern Mining, Miloš Bošnjaković, adding that this is only one of the many projects in the local community that the company endorses.

Eastern Mining d.o.o. is a bosnian-herzegovinian exploration and development company, owned by British company Adriatic Metals. The primary goal of the company is focused on the exploration and exploitation of ore in Vareš county. The focus of activities in 2020 will be on further geological research in the current concession area as well as wider regional area, with the aim of increasing the confirmed ore reserves and extending the life expectancy of the new mine. According to the current plan, the opening of the mine and beginning of production is planned for 2022.
