Another brother of slain Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar was killed along with three of his sons in an Israeli airstrike in central Gaza, Palestinian media reported on Sunday.

Zakaria Sinwar, a historian and professor of modern history at the Islamic University of Gaza, was killed in an attack targeting the Nuseirat refugee camp on Saturday night, the Palestinian news agency Safa reported.

The broadcaster said three of his sons also lost their lives in the same attack.

Israeli public broadcaster KAN earlier reported that the bodies of Mohammed Sinwar, another brother of the slain Hamas leader, and ten of his aides were found in an underground tunnel in the southern city of Khan Younis.

Hamas has not confirmed the Israeli claim.

Yahya Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in Gaza, was killed by Israeli forces in southern Gaza on October 16, 2024.

The Israeli military has been conducting an offensive in Gaza since October 7, 2023, in which more than 53,300 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed, AA writes.
