Brussels allocates 50 Million Euros for Gaza and the West Bank

The European Commission has announced an additional €50 million in humanitarian aid for Gaza and the West Bank as part of a larger aid package for the region.

The money, which will be made available to aid organisations in the region, is intended to help meet urgent needs and alleviate the suffering of Palestinians, said EU Commissioner for Crisis Management Hajja Lahbib.

She added that no aid can reach those in need without safe, unhindered access for aid workers.

“This must be guaranteed,” Lahbib stressed.

The new funds increase the total humanitarian aid allocated to Gaza and the West Bank in 2025 to €170 million, DPA reported.

The European Commission said it would provide an additional €20 million in humanitarian aid to Syria for essential items such as food and healthcare, bringing the total for this year to €202.5 million.

“In Syria, we are increasing funding for the northeast, where people urgently need health care, and we are doing this in a neutral and non-discriminatory manner,” Lahbib said.

An additional 13 million euros has been allocated to Lebanon.
