delegates of the parliamentary assembly of B&HThe Assembly of Canton Sarajevo adopted the budget of CS for 2017 in the amount of 712,379,300 BAM.

Minister of Finance of CS, Jasmin Halebic, expressed satisfaction with the approved budget, and he looks at the next year with a lot of optimism, because the capital budget is about 80 million BAM, which, he said, makes it significantly developmental.

“It is inevitable, of course, that is has a social component considering the society and the structure of society in which we live,” said Halebic.

He said that the most important project in 2017 is in the area of water supply, construction and reconstruction of water supply network, for which is planned 20 million BAM.

He noted that water rationing was reduced in areas where the water supply network was reconstructed, thus this project is considered as justified and its continuation will take place in 2017.

He noted that the development component of the budget is reflected in the construction of roads, nearly 30 million BAM, some from the budget and some as credit, will be invested in this area.

Halebic stated that the Ministry of Education of CS is the biggest budget user, with more than 240 million BAM, which means that much more money is allocated for education in comparison to all other ministries.

Speaking of efforts to reduce air pollution in the CS, Halebic said that the price of gas as an environmentally most acceptable energy source was reduced on several occasions, which resulted in around 2,000 users switching to gas.

He noted that the budgetary funds are allocated in order to impact on reducing emissions of pollutants into the air and reduce pollution through the projects such as increasing energy efficiency in buildings of common and individualized housing.
