Canton Sarajevo and Banja Luka will intensify cooperation in the coming period and in many sectors, was concluded at the meeting of Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton Edin Forto and Mayor of Banja Luka Igor Radojicic.

The tourism sector is the first in which cooperation will be realized.

“We will host a delegation from Banja Luka from the Department of Tourism, and we will develop joint programs from that area,” Forto said, adding that culture will be another significant sector that will connect the two communities.

“Banja Luka will host our team, they are trying to get the” European Capital of Culture “project, which is one of the most important things that can happen in BiH,” Forto said, pointing out that this title leads to a complete transformation of one environment.

Mayor Radojicic said that they can learn from one another and help each other, and emphasized that cooperation and exchange of experiences, in addition to tourism and culture, will be reflected in the areas of utility services, economy, city traffic, heating etc.

He stressed that the freedom of movement of goods and people of this capital should be complete.

“Sarajevo and Banja Luka can do much more,” was the motto of the meeting.
