The Government of Canton Sarajevo gave a “green light”, i.e. the concession for the construction and use of wind power facility – Wind Power Plant Ivan Sedlo Hadzici, to the Business Association Suzlon Wind Energy BH Ltd. at yesterday’s session.

The Assembly of Canton Sarajevo should make the final decision.

Minister of Economy of CS, Muharem Sabic, stated that this is a wind power plant with the installed capacity of 25.2 MW, and that this represents the first project of renewable energy in the CS.

He added that he is hoping that the project will be realized because it would bring large benefits to the CS and local community.

The first following step is signing a contract with Suzlon, after which the investor will be obliged to obtain all types of permits, including environmental, energy etc.

The entire project will cost around 30 million EUR, as previously announced by Suzlon Wind Energy BH Ltd. Sarajevo.
