Speaker of the House of Representatives of BiH Parliament Božo Ljubić spoke in Sarajevo with the ambassador of the UK Nigel Casey.

Casey stated the position of his government in the connection of relations of the UK and the EU and their common future, and added that BiH must have its place in the EU.

He expressed his hope that BiH will fulfil the remaining two conditions in order to apply to candidate status and it would be very good if that could happen this spring, in order for BiH to be the focus of the EU in this and in the next.

Casey said that he understand the current priority, which is the reshuffle of the FBiH Government.

Ljubić said that getting the candidate status for BiH is very important, especially for achieving European standards which will practically bring closer BiH to the EU, and he asked the UK for even greater intermediary approach in order to help BiH to fulfil the necessary conditions.

Ljubić informed the ambassador about the moves that the new parliamentary majority is undertaking in order to reshuffle FBiH Government, and added that it is necessary to harmonise the current parliamentary majority with the Executive.

He added that he expects from all sided that they act responsibly and that they don’t obstruct this process which is in the interest of citizens of BiH.
