The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina held a meeting today in Sarajevo with the ambassadors of the European Union member states gathered around the “Friends of the Western Balkans” group.
The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to BiH Georg Diwald, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to BiH Jana K. Lolić Šindelková, the Ambassador of Slovenia to BiH Damijan Sedar, the Ambassador of Greece to BiH Ioanna Efthymiadou, the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to BiH Ivan Sabolić, the chargé d’affaires of the Hungarian Embassy in BiH Anikó Gyenge and the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to BiH Roman Hloben.
During the meeting, they discussed the upcoming General Elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the activities that the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina is carrying out as part of the preparations for their holding.
The ambassadors expressed their support for the work of the CEC of BiH and expressed their expectation that the upcoming elections will be conducted in a transparent, professional and fair manner.
Special attention was paid to the introduction of specific electoral technologies into the electoral process. It was assessed that their application represents a significant step in improving the electoral process in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including increasing transparency and trust in the electoral process, and represents an important step forward for Bosnia and Herzegovina on the way to the European Union, announced the CEC of BiH.
